Argentine painter and designer Tomás Maldonado was born on April 25, 1922, and died on November 26, 2018.

Maldonado was an Argentine painter, designer, and thinker considered one of the main theorists of design theory of the legendary Ulm Model, a design philosophy developed during his tenure (1954–1967) at the Ulm School of Design (Hochschule für Gestaltung – HfG) in Germany.

Somewhere in the range of 1964 and 1967, as a team with his German associate Gui Bonsiepe, he made an arrangement of codes for the planned program of the Italian firm Olivetti and the retail establishment La Rinascente.

In 1967 Maldonado set up himself in Milan, proceeding to educate in the Faculty of Philosophy and Literature of the University of Bologna, working as a rule now in rationality and feedback impacted by semiotics.

In one of his last articles, “The Heterodox”, Maldonado guarantees that the job of the scholarly is to stir or uncover the aggregate soul.

Tomás Maldonado passed away at 96 years old.
