Tom Amberry was born on November 13, 1922 and died on March 18, 2017.

He was an American podiatrist.

Amberry was best known for holding the world record for most consecutive free throws made, having shot 2,750 of them in a row in a span of 12 hours in 1993 at the age of 71 (a record which has since been surpassed by Ted St. Martin.

Amberry had worked with the Chicago Bulls to help the players with their free throw shooting.

Amberry decided to forego a two year contract to play with the Lakers, choosing to attend podiatry school instead.

Tom Amberry passed away at 94 years old.
