Takamasa Sakurai, Japanese author, Died at 49

Takamasa Sakurai born in 1965, and died on December 4, 2015.

He was a Japanese media producer, an author and a journalist.

Sakura was actively involved as cultural exchange spokesman, and was said to be giving talks in 72 cities in 20 countries and produced fashion shows.

Sakura was one of the first persons to use animation and Harajuku fashion in cultural exchange programs and was often invited as a guest in events about Japan.

He was popular for books such as the Anime Bunka Gaiko (Anime Culture Diplomacy) and Sekai Kawaii Kakumei (World Kawaii Revolution), and for taking part in the establishment of “Kawaii Ambassadors” three Japanese girls who offer lectures on Japanese fashion at such events as Bangkok’s Japan Festa and Paris’s Japan Expo.

Takamasa Sakurai, a noted professor, journalist and the Executive Director of the International Otaku Expo Association (IOEA) passed away in Tokyo on Friday.

Takamasa Sakurai is a content media producer, an author and journalist.

He is also a former research professor at the Digital Hollywood University in Tokyo.

He was killed in an apparent railway accident at the Nishi-Nippori station in Arakawa, Tokyo at around 12:30am, apparently where he fell off the track and the incoming train hit his leg. Sakurai was rushed into the hospital, but was announced dead on arrival.

Takamasa Sakura passed away at 49 yrs old.
