T. N. Gopakumar was born in 1957, in Shuchindram and died on January 30, 2016.

He was an Indian journalist.

Gopakumar was the news editor in chief of Asianet News.

Mr.Gopakumar was also the producer and anchorperson of the popular weekly programme Kannadi on Asianet.

Gopakumar was the son of Vattappallimadam P. Neelakantha Sharma, a Sucheendram Temple Sthanikar, and L. Thankamma.

And he had two other siblings- T.N. Vijayan and T.N. Sreekumar.

His wife was Hether Gopakumar.

They had two daughters, Gayathri & Kaveri.

T. N. Gopakumar started his career with Indian Express and evolved as a journalist through tenures in Mathrubhumi, News Time, Statesman and ‘The independent’.

At the time his partnership with the BBC, he was called in to take charge of the news division in the newly formed Asianet television channel.

Gopakumar was a contributor to the literature and cinema of Malayalam.

Aside from many articles and columns in periodicals, Gopakumar wrote more than fourteen books.

T. N. Gopakumar passed away at 58 yrs old.
