Sutter Brown was born on September 24, 2003, and died on December 30, 2016.

He was the pet dog of Governor Jerry Brown of California and his wife, Anne Gust Brown.

He was a Pembroke Welsh corgi, originally from Ketchum, Idaho.

Sutter was named after early Sacramento settler, John Sutter.

The Dog has its own Twitter and facebook account with over 15000 fans.

He made regular appearances with the governor.

The dog was first owned by Kathleen Brown who gave the pet to her brother after he won the 2010 California gubernatorial election.

He became gravely ill and underwent treatment at an animal hospital in the Sacramento area.

Sutter Brown passed away at 13 years old.
