Sudhir Tailang, Indian cartoonist, Died at 55


Sudhir Tailang was born on February 26, 1960, in Bikaner, Rajasthan and died on February 6, 2016.

He was an Indian cartoonist.

He made his first cartoon in 1970, started his career with the Illustrated Weekly of India, Mumbai, in 1982.

Sudhir joined the Navbharat Times in Delhi, in 1983.

After some years, Tailang was with the Hindustan Times, while also doing short stints with the Indian Express and The Times of India.

Tailang last assignment was with the Asian Age.

Sudhir Tailang was awarded Padma Shri in 2004 for his contribution to the art of cartooning.

Sudhir Tailang recently launched a book of cartoons titled No, Prime Minister, a set of cartoons on the former Prime Minister of India Manmohan Singh.

Sudhir Tailang passed away at 55 yrs old due to brain cancer.
