Su Hongjun, Chinese astronomer, Died at 76

Su Hongjun was born on March 10, 1940, in Haining, Zhejiang, China and died on February 2, 2017.

He was a Chinese astronomer who once led the LAMOST project.

Su was enrolled in the Department of Physics at age 17, at the Peking University, but he transferred to the Department of Geophysics in 1959.

Su then transferred to the newly established Department of Astronomy in the next year, and graduated from there in 1963.

Su Hongjun passed away at 76 years old.
