Steven Plaut was born on 1951, in Philadelphia, and died on January 17, 2017.

He was an American-born Israeli economist, academic, and writer.

Plaut was an associate professor of Business Administration at the University of Haifa as well as a member of the editorial board of the Middle East Quarterly, a publication of the Middle East Forum think tank.

He immigrated to Israel with his family, in 1981.

He died in Haifa, Israel, after battling cancer for many years.

Steven Plaut passed away at 65 years old.
