Benjamin Stephenson “Steve” Goss was born on November 7, 1949, and died on October 26, 2015 from cancer.

Steve was an American politician. He served two terms from January 2007 to December 2010 as a Democratic member of the North Carolina Senate.

He represented the 45th Senate district, including constituents in Alexander, Ashe, Watauga, and Wilkes counties.

Steve was defeated for re-election in 2010 by Republican Dan Soucek.

He was an ordained Southern Baptist minister and resided in Boone, North Carolina.

Steve has a B.S. in Social Science with a Minor in Education from Appalachian State University and a Master of Divinity from Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary.

Steve died at his home in Boone from cancer on October 26, 2015 at the age of 65.
