Steven Ralph Arlin was born on September 25, 1945, and died on August 17, 2016.

He was an American pitcher in Major League Baseball.

Arlin played for the San Diego Padres and Cleveland Indians for six seasons.

He was a collegiate star at Ohio State University and was a star in the College World Series.

During a 1965 semifinal game against Washington State, Steve struck out 20 batters in 15 innings, both CWS records, in a 1–0 complete game victory for the Buckeyes.

However, the Ohio State lost the final game to an Arizona State team that featured Rick Monday and Sal Bando.

The next year in 1966, Arlin led Ohio State to the title and was named the CWS most valuable player.

During 1978, Arlin was inducted into the Ohio State Varsity O Hall of Fame.

During 2006, Arlin was a finalist for the first induction class of the College Baseball Hall of Fame.

And in 2008, Steve was inducted.

He died in San Diego, California.

Steve Arlin passed away at 70 years old.
