Stephen Philip Cohen was born in 1945 and died on January 25, 2017.

He was a scholar on Middle Eastern affairs.

During 1979, Cohen founded the Institute for Middle East Peace and Development and served as president of that institute.

That Institute was based at the Graduate Center of the City University of New York.

He earned his Ph.D. at Harvard University in social psychology.

He was fascinated with problem-solving workshops between Israelis and Palestinians.

Cohen published a book on small group interaction between the two groups.

He was a longtime resident of Teaneck, New Jersey.

Stephen P. Cohen passed away at 71 years old.
