Stephen Caracappa was born in 1942 and died on April 8, 2017.

He was an American NYPD police detective and organized crime operative.

Stephen Caracappa and Louis Eppolito are two former New York Police Department (NYPD) police detectives who worked on behalf of the New York Mafia, principally the Lucchese crime family, while they committed various illegal activities.

During 2006, the pair were convicted of labor racketeering, extortion, narcotics, illegal gambling, obstruction of justice, eight counts of murder and conspiracy to commit murder, charges stemming from the 1980s and the early 1990s in New York City, and in the 2000s in Las Vegas.

Together they were sentenced to life in federal prison.

He died due to cancer.

Stephen Caracappa passed away at 75 years old.
