Stano Filko was born on June 15, 1937 in United Hradná, and died October 23, 2015, in Bratislava.

His work reflected all the important contemporary trends, they were initially determine notably pop art and new realism, Fluxus, and later added conceptual art, installation and “wild” painting.

Filko studied at the Academy of Fine Arts.

He studied Design in Bratislava and since the mid-60s at many major international events, such as Danuvius, 1968, Bratislava, Happening and Fluxus, 1968, Cologne / Rhine; Biennal de Paris, 1968; EXPO 1970 Osaka; Documenta 7, 1982, Kassel; the 51st Venice Biennale in 2005; 11th Biennal de Lyon, 2011 and many others.

Some of Filko works are represented in important international exhibition Ludwig Goes Pop – The East Side Story in the Ludwig Museum in Budapest (10.09 2015 – 03.01 2016).
