Sølvi Sogner was born on March 15, 1932, in Trondheim and died on March 23, 2017.

She was a Norwegian historian.

Her parents were physician Trygve Bauge and nurse Sidsel Schulz.

Sogner was married to historian Bjørn Sogner.

Sogner was professor in history at the University of Oslo from 1988 to 2002.

Including in her selection are Folkevekst og flytting from 1979, Bot eller bryllup from 1981, and Fra stua full til tobarnskull from 1984.

Sogner wrote about the period 1500–1750 in Cappelens kvinnehistorie (1992), and volume 6 (“Krig og fred 1660–1780”) in Aschehougs Norgeshistorie (1996).

Sølvi Sogner passed away at 85 years old.
