Sir Ronald Stewart “Ron” Scott was born on January 21, 1928, and died on August 7, 2016.

He was a New Zealand sports administrator.

Sir Scott was the chairman of the organising committee for the 1974 Christchurch Commonwealth Games.

Sir Ronald Scott served as chairman of the Hillary Commission, the forerunner to Sport New Zealand.

He was appointed a Knight Bachelor for services to sport, particularly the Commonwealth Games, in the 1974 Queen’s Birthday Honours.

He died in Upper Hutt.

Sir Ronald Scott passed away at 88 years old.
