Sir Peter James Lawler was born on March 23, 1921 and died on April 1, 2017.
He was an Australian senior public servant and diplomat.
Lawler served in senior roles under Prime Ministers Menzies, Holt, McEwen, Gorton, McMahon, Whitlam, Fraser and Hawke, and ended his career as Ambassador to Ireland and the Holy See.
Lawler was educated at Vincentian Fathers St Stanislaus College, Bathurst, and the University of Sydney, graduating in economics.
Peter and his wife were named Australian Family of the Year by the Association.
Sir Peter Lawler passed away at 96 years old.
