Sir James Richard Marie Mancham was born on August 11, 1939, and died on January 8, 2017.
He was a Seychellois politician.
Mancham was the founder of the Seychelles Democratic Party and was the first President of Seychelles from 1976 to 1977.
He was the author of three books, Paradise Raped about the 1977 coup, War on America: Seen from the Indian Ocean, written after the September 11 attacks in the United States, and most recently his memoirs; Seychelles Global Citizen: The Autobiography of the Founding President.
Sir James Mancham received the prestigious International Jurists Award for world peace at the International Conference of Jurists 2010.
Sir James Richard Marie Mancham passed away at 77 years old.
