Sir Iain Glidewell, British jurist, Lord Justice of Appeal , Died at 91

The Honourable Sir Iain Glidewell was born on June 8, 1924, and died on May 8, 2016.

He was a Lord Justice of Appeal, and Judge of Appeal of the High Court of the Isle of Man.

In 1985, Sir Iain was made a privy councillor.

Iain Glidewell received his education at Bromsgrove School and Worcester College, Oxford where he is now an Honorary Fellow.

Iain Glidewell was commissioned by the British government to reviewtThe Crown Prosecution Service, in 1997.

Glidewell’s report made recommendations to maximise efficiency within the prosecution process.

He maintains the opinion that in the United Kingdom, QCs should be appointed following the recommendation of a panel chaired by a retired Law Lord or a Lord Justice of Appeal.

Iain Glidewell passed away at 91 yrs old.
