Shyamala Pappu, Indian lawyer, Died at 82

Shyamala Pappu was born on May 21, 1933, and died on September 7, 2016.

She was an Indian lawyer and one of the senior counsels practicing in the Supreme Court of India.

Pappu a former member of the Law Commission of India and has participated in several conferences, delivering keynote addresses.

She was an alumnus of the Miranda House of the University of Delhi, she is a member of the Supreme Court Bar Association of India and a former member of the Independent Commission on Development and Health in India (ICDHI).

Pappu has also served as a member of the Governing Council of her alma mater, Miranda House, during 1973–74.

Additionally, the Government of India awarded her the fourth highest civilian honour of the Padma Shri, in 2009, for her contributions to society.

Shyamala Pappu passed away at 82 years old.
