Shmuel Flatto-Sharon

Controversial French-Israeli businessman, radio talk-show host, and politician Shmuel “Samy” Flatto-Sharon was born Shmuel Sheibitz on January 18, 1930, in Łódź, Poland and died on December 7, 2018.

Shmuel Flatto-Sharon was a member of the Knesset between 1977 and 1981, after starting his own political party.

Flatto-Sharon family ran away to France after the German invasion of Poland, with Shmuel disguised as a girl.

Unfortunatly, forty members of his family, including his father, died in the Holocaust.

Flatto-Sharon when to high school in Paris and Strasbourg, and joined the Young Communist League in 1945.

Flatto-Sharon began selling cigarettes to soldiers and students at 14 years old, and then entered the recycling business, making a fortune in the recycling of paper, rags, and scrap metal.

Flatto-Sharon started in the real estate business at age 21.

Throughout his 20s, Sharon built up his business empire.

Flatto-Sharon came to own a transport service for hauling merchandise with dozens of trucks, industrial plants, a chain of restaurants and cafes, and hotels.

By the late 1960s, Flatto-Sharon owned dozens of companies throughout Europe, the United States, and South America, and did business in oil, logging, and precious metals in Africa.

Shmuel Flatto-Sharon passed away at 88 years old.
