Ivorian academic, politician and short-story writer Zacharie Séry Bailly, or Séry Bailly was born on March 13, 1948, in Abidjan, Ivory Coast in Abidjana and died on December 2, 2018.

He was the Chairperson of Harris Memel-Fotê-Jean Jaurès Fondation in Abidjan.

Séry Bailly was also vice-chairman of the Academy of sciences, arts, cultures of Africa and the African diaspora (ASCAD).
