Serge Baguet was born on August 18, 1969, and died on February 9, 2017.

He was a Belgian former professional road bicycle racer.

Baguet was the son of the ex-cyclist Roger Baguet.

Serge Baguet was married to Sandra Rasschaert and they have a son (Sam).

He began his professional cycling career in 1991.

Baguet worked for Lotto for five years and one year for Vlaanderen 2002.

Baguet’s major victories were stages in the Tour du Limousin and the Tour of Britain.

Following six years of pro-cycling, he became a roofer.

During 2000, Baguet made a comeback in the cycling-milieu (again with Lotto) and won his biggest victory in his career: a stage in the Tour de France.

During 2005, Baguet won two stages in the Vuelta a AndalucĂ­a and became Belgian national cycling champion.

And, during 2006 and 2007, Serge Baguet was a rider for the second big Belgian UCI ProTeam: Quick Step-Innergetic.

Baguet retired at the end of the 2007 season.

He died after a two-year battle against colon cancer.

Serge Baguet passed away at 47 years old.
