Sarah Goldberg, Actress, Died at 40

  Dead Famous

Sarah Goldberg, who played Sarah Glass Camden on ‘7th Heaven,’ died in her sleep on September 27, 2014. She was 40 years old.

Sarah Goldberg‘s family has reportedly confirmed that the actress passed away during her sleep at her family’s home in Wisconsin.

Sarah had multiple film and TV roles during her lifetime. Sarah was a true small-town girl who hit it big in Hollywood.

She was born in Springfield, Illinois, and then lived in Chicago, where she earned a Microbiology degree from Amherst College in 1996.

After graduating from college, Sarah moved to Hollywood. Sarah’s mom, Judy Goldberg, spoke to the Chicago Sun-Times about her daughter’s death.

She told the paper that an autopsy did not determine Sarah’s cause of death, but that a “heart ailment is suspected.” She said that Sarah “died peacefully” while sleeping at her family’s cabin in Wisconsin.

After appearing in “Training Day,” Goldberg landed her biggest role, as a medical student and rabbi’s daughter who fell for Matt Camden in “7th Heaven.”

Judy said that Sarah helped “arrange tablecloths and napkins” for the movie (which starred Julia Roberts), then walked around the set.

While walking around, part of the film’s crew asked her if she wanted to be an extra in the wedding scene.

The wedding scene was formal, so Sarah and her mom rushed out and quickly bought a dress, and then Sarah appeared as an extra in the movie.

What a sweet story and wonderful memory. Sarah Goldberg received an Olivier nomination for Clybourne Park at the Royal Court Theatre.

Other London theater credits include Miss Lilly Gets Boned, Six Degrees of Separation and Apologia.

In 2012, Goldberg made her New York theater debut opposite Matthew Rhys in the off-Broadway mounting of John Osborne’s Look Back in Anger.

Goldberg grew up in Chicago, and planned to study medicine until a chance cameo in the 1997 movie, “My Best Friends’ Wedding,” made her rethink her career path.

“She wanted to go to medical school, and instead for three years she played a doctor on ‘7th Heaven,'” her mother recalled.

“She would walk down the street here, or places in Wisconsin, and people would come up to her and say, ‘you played the daughter!'”

While an autopsy failed to determine a cause of death, a heart ailment is suspected.

The actress, who also appeared in “The Beast,” “Without a Trace,” “Judging Amy,” and more, died during a trip to her family’s cabin in Wisconsin.

Her death came less than two weeks before bombshell audio recordings emerged of 7th Heaven actor Stephen Collins, apparently admitting to sexual contact with under-aged girls
