Sanafi al-Nasr was born on July 12, 1985, in the Saudi town of al-Shaqra in Riyadh, and died in October, 17 2015.

He fronted al-Qaeda’s “Victory Committee”, this was allegedly the tasked with developing and implementing al-Qaeda’s strategy and policies.

Al-Nasr was active with the Khorasan Group in Syria, whose ideological and personal animus toward the United States may have influenced the degree to which al-Qa`ida elements plot international terrorism from Syrian soil.

Sanafi became active in al-Qa`ida’s Saudi chapter in early 2000 and established himself as a prolific online writer.

In 2007, Sanafi joined al-Qa`ida in the Afghanistan-Pakistan-Iran triangle where he learned from some of its top leaders and contributed to its media efforts and strategies.

In April 2013, Sanafi al-Nasr moved to Syria where he joined and teamed up with Jabhat al-Nusra and emerged as a senior figure in the group.

Sanafi al-Nasr passed away on October, 17 2015 in an air strike.
