Ruwen Ogien was born on December 24, 1949, and died on May 4, 2017.

He was a contemporary French philosopher.

He worked as a researcher (directeur de recherche) at the French National Centre for Scientific Research.

Ogien’s main work focuses on moral philosophy and the philosophy of social science.

Ogien was the brother of Albert Ogien sociologist.

Ogien was educated in Brussels, Tel Aviv, University of Cambridge, Paris, Columbia University and Montreal.

He studied social anthropology, he wrote extensively on poverty and immigration.

Ogien’s thesis in philosophy, under the direction of Jacques Bouveresse, was published under the title The Weakness of the Will.

Ruwen Ogien passed away at 67 years old.
