Rogie Maglinas, Filipino footballer, Died at 19

Rogie A. Maglinas was born on February 20, 1996, and died on February 2, 2016.

He was a Filipino amateur football player and a scholar.

Rogie had spent two seasons (UAAP Season 76 & 77) as a midfielder playing for the UP Fighting Maroons men’s football team in the UAAP and Ang Liga Cup and also part of the National Under 19 team pool.

Maglinas was also the coach of the Under-11 football team of Claret School.

As a UP football scholar, Rogie transferred from the University of Makati in 2012.

From 2013 to 2014, he was also a member of Pachanga Diliman Under 19 teams.

Maglinas was a Sports Science major at the University of the Philippines-Diliman.

However, he was on the way for his third collegiate year in the UAAP, he were diagnosed with Stage 3 Rhabdomyosarcoma or the cancer of skeletal muscles, in September 2015.

Rogie A. Maglinas died on February 2, 2016, 4 days before his 20th birthday, at the Philippine General Hospital in Manila.

Rogie A. Maglinas passed away at 19 yrs old.
