Robert Stigwood was born on April 16, 1934, in Adelaide and died on January 4, 2016.

He was an Australian music entrepreneur and impresario.

He was best known for managing Cream and the Bee Gees.

He moved from Australia, he relocated to England in 1954.

During the 1960s and 1970s was one of the most successful figures in the entertainment world, through his management of various music groups like Cream and The Bee Gees, theatrical productions like Hair and Jesus Christ Superstar and film productions including the hugely successful Saturday Night Fever.

His parents were Gwendolyn (Burrows) and Robert Stigwood, an electrical engineer.

Mr.Stigwood began his working life as a copywriter for a local advertising agency and in 1955 moved to England.

Robert in one incident recounted by Simon Napier-Bell, Stigwood bravely climbed fifty feet down a rope ladder into the hold of a tanker to administer morphine to a seaman who had fallen through a hatch.

He lived in Turkey while he was living with the family of a young friend in a hut in a small village and working with them in the fields.

Some of Stigwood Stage musicals includes; Evita (winner of the 1980 Tony Award for Best Musical in the US), Hair, Oh! Calcutta!, The Dirtiest Show in Town and films includes; Evita, The Fan, Gallipoli, Staying Alive, Grease 2 and many more.

He has accomplished many things and served in various position throughout his career.

Robert Stigwood passed away at 81 yrs old.
