Robert Sassone was born on November 23, 1978, in Noumea and died on January 21, 2016.

He was a cyclist French.

Asilver medalist, he was world champion in the US in 2001 with Jérôme Neuville.

He was involved in the doping case blending Cofidis members, in 2004

Robert was sentenced to six months suspended sentence, in January 2007.

He was also banned for two years between July 2004 and July 2006 because of a positive drug test, performed during the Six Days of Noumea in 2004.

Robert Sassone passed away at 37 yrs old.
