Robert Morin Shoemaker was born on February 18, 1924, in Almont, Michigan and died on June 21, 2017.

He was a U.S. Army general and former commander of the United States Army Forces Command (FORSCOM).

Shoemaker was also an inductee into the Aviation Hall of Fame.

He died at a hospital in Harker Heights, Texas.
