He was an Irish actor.

He was also a contributor to Irish arts and culture through performances in theatre, film and television.

Robert Carrickford was well known for his part ‘Stephen Brennan’ in the Irish television series Glenroe.

And also served as the president of Irish Actors Equity during the 1980s and 1990s representing and lobbying for better pay and conditions for Irish actors.

On ‘No stranger to the stage, he played several roles at the Abbey Theatre between 1969-80.

Robert Carrickford passed away at 88 yrs old.
