Rob Stewart was born on December 28, 1979, in Toronto, Ontario and died on January 31, 2017.

He was a Canadian photographer, filmmaker, and conservationist.

Stewart was best known for making and directing the documentary films Sharkwater and Revolution.

Rob Stewart started doing underwater photography as a teenager and became a scuba-diving trainer when he was eighteen years old.

Stewart attended the prestigious Crescent School in Toronto, Ontario, Canada as a youth.

For four years, Stewart worked as chief photographer for the Canadian Wildlife Federation’s magazines, and also worked as a freelance journalist.

Rob Stewart won awards for his journalism.

He held a bachelor’s degree in biology from the University of Western Ontario and studied zoology and marine biology in Kenya and Jamaica.

Stewart died in a scuba diving incident while in Florida filming Sharkwater: Extinction.

Rob Stewart passed away at 37 years old.
