Rick MacLeish, Canadian ice hockey player, Died at 66

Richard George “Rick” MacLeish was born on January 3, 1950, and deid on May 30, 2016.

He was a Canadian professional ice hockey forward

Rick played 14 seasons in the National Hockey League (NHL) with the Philadelphia Flyers, Hartford Whalers, Pittsburgh Penguins, and Detroit Red Wings.

MacLeish played 12 seasons in Philadelphia, winning two Stanley Cups with the Flyers in 1974 and 1975.

When he had gone in retirement, Rick MacLeish enjoyed his passion for owning racehorses.

During the early 2000s, Rick suffered a heart attack during a Flyers Alumni game and had cardiac bypass surgery the next day.

He also suffered from diabetes.

His daughter on May 11, 2016 announced her father had been “battling multiple medical problems” for the last 6 weeks in a Philadelphia hospital.

He died due to meningitis as well as kidney and liver failure.

Rick MacLeish passed away at 66 yrs old.
