Richard Green, landscape photographer, Died at 74

  Dead Famous

Richard Green died on November 7, 2015 in a helicopter crash.

He was an English-born Australian landscape photographer.

Richard established himself as a successful landscape photographer after capturing some of Australia’s most isolated regions.

His interest in photography started as a boy growing up in England.

In 1967 he was trained as a physicist.

Richard started research work for a PhD in the innovative field of computer graphics.

His research helped him to form a company specializing in staging major international conferences and exhibitions in computer and communications technology in 1971.

According to him, ‘he was lucky to be in the right place at the right time and the company became very successful’.

Richard sold the business in 1987 on the UK Stock Exchange, by which time it had over 120 staff and offices in London, New York and Singapore.

Richard decided to take early retirement, obtained a helicopter pilot license and emigrated to Australia to pursue my passion for wilderness photography.

He also stated that he met Carolyn in Sydney, a graphic artist, and for over 20 years we have made regular helicopter trips to the most remote and unknown wilderness areas of the Australian continent.

Richard first solo photographic exhibition was in Darwin in 2007.

From that day he had held over a dozen solo shows, including one in the National Library in Canberra, which was attended by over 30,000 people.

Examples of my work are also represented in collections in Australia, England, the USA, Canada, France and Germany.

Richard Green and his wife passed away at 74 years old in a helicopter crash.
