Rian Sukmawan, Indonesian badminton player, Died at 30

Rian Sukmawan was born on November 21, 1985, and died on February 27, 2016.

He was a professional badminton player from Indonesia.

He was a doubles specialist.

Rian was the winner of the men’s doubles in 2006 at the Dutch and New Zealand Opens with fellow countryman Eng Hian.

He won the Dutch Open again with partner Yonathan Suryatama Dasuki, in 2007.

The player had a heart attack after playing in an exhibition match in Semarang with some former players, including Tri Kusharjanto.

Reportedly Kusharjanto said Sukmawan went outside for some rest before a security guard found him laying on a bench outside the arena alone and asking for help, he was taken to the hospital, but he had DOA.

Rian Sukmawan passed away at 30 yrs old.
