Walter Raymond “Ret” Turner was born on April 14, 1929, and died on May 3, 2016.

He was an American costume designer,

Ret was notable for his dressing of entertainment icons such as Cher, Lucille Ball, Barry Manilow, Neil Diamond, Shirley Booth, Lily Tomlin, Marie Osmond, Pia Zadora, Dolly Parton, Diana Ross, Billy Crystal and Jean Stapleton.

Turner has received 23 Emmy nominations and 5 wins to his list of credits which include Sonny and Cher, The Andy Williams Show, Mama’s Family, and many television specials including the Kennedy Center 25th Anniversary special.

He started his career on the Dinah Shore Chevrolet Show, and except for his reoccurring role as one of the Flying Silvermans on The Andy Williams Show, has been designing ever since.

Alongside Bob Mackie and Ray Aghayan, Turner opened a design and costume rental company, Ret Turner Costume Rentals, that featured their designs and costumes.

Ret Turner passed away at 87 yrs old.
