René Ballet, French journalist and author, Died at 88

René Ballet was born in 1928 and died on January 2, 2017.

He was a French journalist, novelist, and essayist.

Ballet was a communist, he was an international correspondent for L’Humanité.

Ballet was the author of 14 novels and 35 essays, many of which were about Roger Vailland.

He joined the French Resistance during World War II.
He was married to Simone Ballet, a professor of economics and law at Paris Descartes University.

Together they resided between Paris, Nice and La Chapelle-Fortin.

The couple also attended the Fête de l’Humanité annually.

René Ballet passed away at 88 years old.
