Rajesh Vivek was born on January 31, 1949, in Jaunpur and died on January 14, 2016, in Hyderabad, Telangana, India.

He was a theater actor.

He was best known to Hindi movie audiences for his role of the astrologer Guran in Lagaan or as the Postman/Postmaster in Swades.

Vivek had also played roles of Veda Vyasa, author of the Mahabharata in the popular Indian Series Mahabharat (TV series).

Rajesh made his mark as a villain in the beginning with films like Veerana and Joshilay, often playing roles of henchman- but later, on he started doing comedic/supporting roles.

Vivek other credits include Mujhse Shaadi Karogi, What’s Your Raashee? (as the Astrologer/Detective) and Bunty Aur Babli.

Rajesh is also noted for his roles in the historic TV series Bharat Ek khoj.

Vivek best acting was seen in the TV Serial “Aghori” which is his horror best.

Vivek was roped in for an ad series of Cadbury 5 star as the father of the two sons.

His parents was Raj Bahadur Upadhyay and Prem Kumari Upadhyay.

He completed his M.A. in Ancient history & Archaeology from T.D.Degree College, Jaunpur(Uttar Pradesh).

The famous Shyam Benegal first introduced him in his film Junoon.

Rajesh Vivek passed away on 66 yrs old due to a massive heart attack at Hyderabad.
