Radhames Gomez Pepín was born in Santiago on December 14, 1930, and died on October 26, 2015.

His first job was in communication for the magazine The Rotarian, then in the newspaper Information, where he served from 1952 to 1956.

He was an editor of the newspaper El Caribe and one of the founders of the El Nacional newspaper, of which he was director.

Radhames Gomez Pepin was awarded the National Journalism Award in 2009.

Radhames died at age 88 in October 2015.
