She was a Portuguese singer.

She was notable for her participation in the 1984 Eurovision Song Contest.

She discharged two EPs, “La mère sans enfant” and “Balada do negro só” in the late 1960s, at that point enjoyed a long reprieve from the music business.

She returned in 1981 playing out a tune, “Um adeus, um recomeço”, in the Portuguese Eurovision choice, Festival da Canção, where she completed third.

Her second endeavor in Festival da Cançao came in 1984, when her tune “Silêncio e tanta gente” (“Silence thus Many People”) developed the champ.

She went ahead as the Portuguese agent in the 29th Eurovision Song Contest, held in Luxembourg City on 5 May. “Silêncio e tanta gente”, an intelligent anthem with Guinot going with herself on piano, was performed toward the end in the running request and gave a relaxed closure of the challenge.

It completed in eleventh place of the 19 passages.

Following her Eurovision appearance, Guinot kept performing and creating.

Guinot has discharged three collections and has regularly worked together on tasks with different performers.

Maria Guinot passed away at 73 years old from a lung infection.
