Polish jazz vibraphonist, Jerzy Milian, Died at 82

Jerzy Stanisław Milian was born on April 10, 1935, and died on March 7, 2018.

He was a jazz musician, painter, composer and vibraphonist.

When he was he graduated from the Secondary School of Music in Poznan.

Jerzy Milian teachers were Wolfram Heicking and Bogusław Schaeffer.

From 1950 to 1957, he was a member of the ZMP, since 1961 belonged to the Communist Party.

In the days of communist was awarded with the Knight’s Cross of the Order of the Rebirth of Polish, Gold Cross of Merit and badge for distinguished cultural activists.

During 2004 Millian was awarded the Commander’s Cross.

He died on March 7, 2018 at the age of 82.
