Pierre-Yvon Lenoir, Olympic middle distance runner, Died at 79

Pierre-Yvon Lenoir was born August 8, 1936, in Belle-Isle-en-Terre and died November 25, 2015.

He was a French athlete.

He was a specialist in the 800 meters,

Pierre won two titles of champion of France’s 800, in 1959 and 1960.

In Gothenburg, Lenoir established a new record for France’s 800 meters in 1 min 48 s 0 on September 9, 1959.

The French previous best before him, was held by Marcel Hansenne since 1948.

Pierre won the Mediterranean Games in 1959 in Beirut, Lebanon.

Pierre had collaborations with the Adidas society interlocutor of the French Athletics Federation in that title until 1993, Pierre became vice president of the FFA in charge of communication and marketing in 1997, a position he held until in 2004.
