Philippa Kate Roles was born on March 1, 1978, in Neath, and died on May 22, 2017.

She was a Welsh discus thrower.

She studied at Neath Port Talbot College and was resident in London.

Roles was 5 ft 10 inches tall and weighed 88 kg.

She worked for the train operating company Southern as a train driver on the London Metro services servicing South London.

Roles represented Swansea Harriers at club level.

Roles’ personal best throw was 62.89 metres, achieved in June 2003 in Loughborough, which placed her third on the British outdoor all-time list, behind Meg Ritchie and Venissa Head.

She appeared as Jonny Saunder’s guest in the feature “Who’s in the Locker, Cocker?” on Chris Evans’ BBC Radio 2 Drivetime Show, on Wednesday 16 July 2008.

Philippa Kate Roles passed away at 39 years old.
