Air Marshal Peter Brett Walker, born on September 29, 1949 and died September 6, 2015, he was a Royal Air Force officer who served as Lieutenant Governor of Guernsey from 2011 to 2015.
Educated at Pocklington School and Durham University, Walker joined the Royal Air Force in 1975.
He served as a fighter pilot flying the Phantom FGR2 and Tornado F3 aircraft and went on to command No. 111 Squadron.
He became Director of Operational Capability in 1999, Assistant Chief of Defence Staff (Operations) in 2001 and Assistant Chief of Staff (Policy & Requirements) at SHAPE in 2002.
He went on to be Commander of the Joint Warfare Centre in Norway in 2005 and retired in 2007.
In retirement he became Lieutenant Governor of Guernsey and died in that role on 6 September 2015.
