Peter T. Flawn, American geologist and educator, Died at 91

Peter T. Flawn was born on February 17, 1926, in Miami, Florida and died on May 7, 2017.

He was a American geologist and educator.

He retired as President of the University of Texas at Austin in 1985 and was named President Emeritus by the Board of Regents.

Peter T. Flawn gained his bachelor’s degree from Oberlin College in 1947 and his PhD in geology from Yale University in 1951 and was prominent as a geologist, educator, author, and consultant.

Flawn served in the U.S. Army Air Corps during World War II.

Peter and his wife, Priscilla (née Pond) Flawn had two children, Tyrrell Flawn and the late Dr. Laura Flawn (now deceased).

Peter T. Flawn passed d away at 91 years old.
