Peter Mondavi, American wine producing pioneer, Died at 101

Peter Mondavi was born on November 8, 1914, and died on February 20, 2016.

He was an American wine producing pioneer.

Known as Napa Valley wine pioneer, Peter’s  family own the Charles Krug Winery, “was mainly known for inexpensive jug wine, or ‘vin ordinaire,’

During 1943, his parents bought the Charles Krug Winery, which was founded by Prussian emigrant Charles Krug in 1861, making it the oldest winery in Napa Valley.

He died at his California estate.

Now, the winery is run today by his sons Marc and Peter Jr.

Peter Mondavi passed away at 101 yrs old.
