Peter Doohan was born on May 2, 1961 and died on July 21, 2017.

He was an Australian tennis player.

Doohan won one singles title (1984, Adelaide) and five doubles titles during his career.

He was right-hander reached his highest ATP singles ranking of World No. 43 in August 1987.

Doohan was best known for unexpectedly ousting two-time defending champion and top-seeded Boris Becker from the second round of Wimbledon in 1987, earning himself the nickname “The Becker Wrecker” at home in Australia.

He played in the US with the University of Arkansas, where he won the NCAA doubles title in 1982.

Doohan also coached high school tennis at Donoho High School in Anniston, Alabama, for several years in the mid-1990s. Doohan died in July 2017 from motor neurone disease.

Peter Doohan passed away at 56 years old.
