Peter Collingwood, British-born Australian actor, Died at 96


Peter Trevor Collingwood was born in 1920, in Kent, England and died on September 23, 2016.
He was a British-born Australian actor.
Peter appeared in a number of British and Australian films, miniseries and serials from 1950 to 2003, as well as being a noted performer and director of theatre.
Collingwood enrolled in the Embassy School of Acting at the Embassy Theatre (London) in 1937, before serving in World War II.
During the late 1940sā€“1950s, he worked for a number of regional repertory companies in England.
Peter and his family moved to Perth, Western Australia where he worked at the Perth Playhouse (1961ā€“1963).
His family returned to England for a short time, then emigrated to Australia before settling in Balmain, New South Wales, in 1967.
He has appeared in numerous serial roles including Home and Away and Always Greener.
His various acting roles include Lord John Russell in Edward the Seventh and Mr. Dunkley in Are You Being Served?.
Peter Collingwood passed away at 96 years old.
