Peter Overend Watts was born on May 13, 1947, in Yardley, Birmingham, and died on January 22, 2017.

He was an English bass guitar player and founding member of 1970s rock band, Mott the Hoople.

Watts moved as a child to Worthing, Sussex, and then to Ross-on-Wye, Herefordshire, where he started learning guitar while at Ross Grammar School.

Pete’s real middle name, Overend, which initially he did not use, came from that of a family ancestor.

He died due throat cancer.

Pete Overend Watts passed away at 69 years old.
