Peter “Pete” Hamilton was born on July 20, 1942, and died on March 22, 2017.

He was an American NASCAR racer.

Hamilton won four times in his career (including the 1970 Daytona 500), three times driving for Petty Enterprises.

He started racing in the street division in 1962 at Norwood Arena Speedway.

In 1965, Pete was the Thompson World Series Twin 50s champion.

Pete won the 1967 NASCAR National Sportsman division in 1967.

When he retired, Pete became a successful car builder.

Pete Hamilton passed away at 74 years old.
