Paul McBlane, Australian rugby league referee, Died at 53


Paul McBlane died on February 2, 2017.

He was an Australian rugby league referee of the NRL.

He started his first-grade career in 1994 in the New South Wales Rugby League premiership.

During 1996, in the midst of the Super League war, he was accused of bias against the breakaway teams.

Paul controlled the City vs Country match that year.

In 1998, Paul McBlane was one of the original referee’s of the new National Rugby League competition, becoming referee number 10.

Paul McBlane passed away at 53 years old.
